Chauncey Abbott

Chauncey Abbott (September 16, 1815 – January 30, 1872) was an American lawyer and politician. He served as the Mayor of Madison, Wisconsin and as a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly during the 1800s.
==Early life==
Abbott was born in Madison, Wisconsin and graduated from Middlebury College in Vermont.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title= Chauncey Abbott (1815 - 1872), )〕 He read law and began practicing law in Fort Winnebago, Wisconsin before moving to Mineral Point, Wisconsin, where he became a law partner with Moses M. Strong. He then settled in Madison, where he formed a law practice with John Catlin, future acting governor of the Wisconsin Territory.
